My name is Jeremy I started A Cut Above LLC. in 2018 and made it official in 2019.We specialize in difficult tree removal and tree trimming services. My customers call because they have trees that are in tight quarters with no room for error. I started my business in 2018 after working for over thirteen years as a certified (ASE) automotive technician. Although I am an excellent mechanic, I felt I needed a change and would enjoy being outdoors more. I apprenticed (working for wages) for a year during which time I began studying to take the arborist certification exam. Im still engaged in that study as it is fairly comprehensive and has a low pass rate. When I began the business, I never had a problem getting work. I have a website with google pay per click ads (www. acutabovellc.net) and once I got a job in any neighborhood, I would typically end up helping all the neighboring homeowners. My work is displayed on my website and requires me to climb trees as tall as 100 feet removing branches as I go while helpers await below to retrieve the debris. The workers do not climb but are needed in order to quickly complete each contract, which allows me to remain competitive. I then return to the ground and cut what is now a tree pole so it falls precisely where intended. The workers then cut it into pieces and load it with the other debris which I then haul away. I need this loan to purchase a wood chipper which will enable me to turn trunks into mulch. I also need repairs to my truck and to get better saws and climbing equipment. The pandemic really tore me up. Not only were jobs not forthcoming, people were financially stressed and had other needs beyond tree service. It was also difficult to find workers as many were receiving unployment benefits and not as motivated to come out and catch falling tree branches. I am an excellent salesperson and am learning more and more about trees and their care. My goal is to eventually have teams of climbers working for me all over Hampton Roads. Providing difficult tree trimming and tree removals, we are not limited to just tree services but also fence contracting and general labor jobs. I usually have a groundsman who is my manager on the ground. Being that I am the climber it looks very unprofessional managing from a tree so my groundsman is always somebody who is drug free clean and responsible to help the operation successfully come to a happy completion with no injuries or damage. My groundsman's duties include manage laborers making sure they are doing what needs to be done, manage my ropes keeping them untangled and lowering branches to the ground. My business week survive this and thrive. I am one of the best salesman I know and always leave customes amazed by the extremely cared for services we provide.
